CIFIT Reports Investment Delegations From 129 Countries and Regions

The 26th China International Fair for Investment & Trade concluded on September 11 in Xiamen, Fujian Province. Organizers reported participation from delegations across 129 countries and regions, alongside more than 100,000 business visitors.

The fair centered on bilateral investment, bringing together exhibitions, forums, project matchmaking and cooperation negotiations. Its three main sections were “Investment in China,” “China’s Investment” and “International Investment,” according to the organizers’ account of the fair.

CIFIT Expands Financial Exhibition Space

The financial exhibition area expanded to 25,000 square meters, with 140 participating institutions. Participants included major financial regulators, policy banks and investment institutions, the organizers said.

A Cross-border Interbank Payment System exhibition zone brought together 74 globally systemically important banks and regional leading banks. Those institutions represented 46 countries and regions.

Organizers described the zone as supporting cross-border RMB settlement, trade facilitation, financing and capital management. Financial activities at the fair aimed to connect global capital with real-economy industries.

Delegations Include Finland And Saudi Arabia

More than 1,200 government agencies and business groups sent delegations to CIFIT. Representatives from 30 international organizations also attended, according to the organizers.

Among the world’s top 50 economies by GDP, 48 sent delegations. Organizers described international participation and delegation scale as historic highs for the event.

For the first time, the fair had dual guest countries of honor and dual guest provinces of honor. Finland and Saudi Arabia were the guest countries, while Guangdong and Qinghai were the guest provinces.

Finland brought 42 enterprises and institutions, including KONE, UPM, Nokia, Valmet and Metsä. Saudi Arabia organized 186, including Saudi Aramco, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation, Public Investment Fund, ACWA Power and Riyadh Air.

Online Platform Hosts Project Matchmaking

CIFIT took place at the Xiamen International Expo Center for the first time. Exhibition space increased from 120,000 to 200,000 square meters.

The “Cloud CIFIT” platform established 968 online exhibition booths and released more than 4,700 projects. Organizers reported over 19,000 online matchmaking sessions through the platform.

A capital project matchmaking pavilion introduced a “Project Supermarket” with 130 selected projects. It completed more than 1,300 one-on-one negotiations, according to the event account.

The fair organized 46 thematic activities and 52 project roadshows. It also released 28 reports, including the “China Two-way Investment Report 2026” and “Statistical Bulletin on Foreign Investment in China 2026.”

Conference Addresses Future Investment

The Future Investment Conference 2026 focused on “Global Investment for a Changing World.” Discussions covered artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, life sciences, healthcare, clean energy and advanced manufacturing.

At its opening ceremony, Vice Minister of Commerce Ling Ji said China was willing to share development experience with global partners. Ling described support for digital transformation, intelligent development and green transition.

Ling also said China would continue working toward a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory international investment environment. The stated effort includes promoting investment liberalization and facilitation.
