Phase has switched on its Layer 1 blockchain mainnet with $45m founder backing supplied by Kirill Eves. The company says the network will provide infrastructure for AI agents, including connectivity, model access, computing and payments.

Eves also founded Unlimit, a financial infrastructure business active in over 180 countries that handles upwards of $40bn in payments each year, according to the source. Phase says its network uses ordinary consumer devices to help secure the blockchain while supplying bandwidth and processing capacity for its AI services.

45m Founder Backing Supports Phase Mainnet

Unlike networks that depend on specialized servers and staked tokens, Phase says participants can contribute with devices they already own. The company says users need not buy extra equipment or commit money upfront. Smartphones are the first supported devices, and users can join by installing the Phase app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Phase describes its consensus model as reputation-based. It says the model rewards dependable contributors and selects validators at random. The network also checks whether devices and node software are genuine, a measure Phase says is intended to prevent a small group of large operators from dominating participation.

The launch adds another approach to blockchain participation, alongside projects that set out device or token requirements. For example, a separate blockchain participation roadmap describes a token-based participation program. The projects are distinct, but both put network participation at the center of their plans.

Phase Proxy Opens Agent Web Access

Alongside the mainnet, Phase has released Phase Proxy, a service designed to expand the websites AI agents can reach. It routes agent traffic through mobile and residential connections on the network, which Phase says can help agents access sites that might otherwise refuse or limit them.

Pricing starts at 0.5 USDT for 1,000 requests plus 1 GB of traffic. Phase cited Proxyway’s 2026 industry research, saying mobile proxy providers typically charge more than $5 per GB at entry level. Those figures are the company’s comparison and describe the service’s stated starting price.

Phase says two additional products are due in November 2026. Phase Router is planned as a single gateway to leading AI models, directing requests according to quality, speed and cost. Phase Compute is planned to use processing capacity from devices across the network to run open-weight models and provide decentralized AI inference.

The company also aims to release a proprietary AI model as the platform’s core intelligence. Phase says the model is intended to support sophisticated reasoning, complete complex tasks independently and manage other models. The source does not give a launch date for that model.

Payments and Rewards Depend on Use

AI agents on Phase can make on-chain payments using stablecoins or PHASE, the network’s token. Services use pay-as-you-go billing and support the x402 payment standard and EVM-compatible smart contracts.

Device owners are set to receive PHASE for validating blocks. Phase says they may earn more by supplying connectivity, inference and computing, with rewards tied to uptime, participation levels and customer demand. The company also plans to use part of its service revenue to buy PHASE on the open market and distribute those tokens to node operators according to their contributions.

That design links operator rewards to network activity and service demand, while the mainnet is already running. Other infrastructure projects have also outlined plans for decentralized computing and blockchain services, including a planned blockchain network migration and a platform for financial institutions. Those reports cover separate projects, not Phase’s rollout.

Eves said the infrastructure behind AI agents should not belong to one company. The next stated product milestone is the planned November 2026 release of Phase Router and Phase Compute.
