Miami, FLEndeavor Miami, an affiliate of the global Endeavor organization that fosters high-growth entrepreneurship, has joined forces with the City of Miami’s Venture Miami to empower women entrepreneurs across emerging technologies. The collaboration includes a $50,000 grant to power the 10th edition of EndeavorLAB, an initiative aimed at supporting underrepresented founders in Florida.

The upcoming EndeavorLAB cohort will concentrate on rapidly growing, women-led companies based in Miami that have achieved at least $50,000 in annual revenues and demonstrated product-market fit. A special emphasis will be placed on emerging technologies such as blockchain technology and its applications across various industries. Endeavor Miami, a key player in the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem since 2013, and Venture Miami, the City of Miami’s entrepreneur support arm, share a mission to improve living standards through job creation, innovation support, wealth generation, and overall quality of life enhancement.

Mayor Francis Suarez expressed his commitment to fostering a blockchain-friendly environment, stating that EndeavorLAB offers a unique opportunity for women-led startups in Florida to access resources and support to scale their businesses and create a significant impact in the community.

“The City of Miami is committed to supporting women entrepreneurs and helping them succeed,” said Mayor Francis Suarez. “EndeavorLAB provides an unparalleled opportunity for women-led companies in Florida to gain access to the resources and support they need to scale their businesses and make a meaningful impact in our community.”

A recent study by Pitchbook disclosed that women-led startups accounted for a mere 2.1% of venture capital funding in 2022, highlighting the urgent need to address gender disparity in the business sector. Research has demonstrated that companies with gender-diverse leadership teams yield better  performance and higher profitability. Supporting women entrepreneurs is crucial not only for addressing gender inequity in the business world but also for the overall economic benefit.

EndeavorLAB’s primary objective is to equip women-led companies with the necessary tools and skills to expand their ventures and achieve success in the fundraising process. The initiative promotes local economic growth, paving the way for more job opportunities, wealth creation, and inspiring entrepreneurial narratives.

Claudia Duran, Managing Director of Endeavor Miami, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership with the City of Miami and emphasized the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs to develop a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“We’re thrilled to partner with The City of Miami once more to empower women entrepreneurs and help them reach their full potential – drive innovation, create jobs, and boost economic growth in our region.” said Claudia Duran, Managing Director of Endeavor Miami. “EndeavorLAB is a game-changer for entrepreneurs in Florida.”

Rebecca Negro Rocha Manager of Cohort Initiatives at Endeavor Miami, emphasized the importance of EndeavorLAB as a community committed to helping underrepresented founders in the blockchain sector scale their businesses. Miami’s thriving startup ecosystem, combined with its talent pool, cultural diversity, and strategic location, makes it an ideal hub for blockchain entrepreneurs aiming to make a global impact.

The EndeavorLAB cohort for women-led blockchain companies, powered by Venture Miami, is now accepting applications until May 21st, 2023.
