People usually like to stand for and raise awareness to the causes they believe in, but how far do they really go? In the case of Jason King, of Blockchain Across America, than means running from the East to the West coasts of the United States of America (two times already!), in order to raise awareness to the blockchain technology and also the growing homelessness in the country.

King is really a man that believes in causes and, when he does, he does make it known. Back in 2014 he did a similar run, that one called “BitcoinAcrossAmerica”. As one can conclude by the name, that run had similar purposes, with King wanting to spread the word on Bitcoin and also using it to tackle the problem of homelessness.

This year’s run serves to mark the 5th anniversary of the first one and, now that the crypto world is definitely way more than just Bitcoin, King decided to focus this new project on the underlying technology, which is by far one of the most promising technologies paving its way on the tech market right now.

The connection of King to the crypto world goes way beyond these runs, though. He is the co-founder of the Kingsland School of Blockchain, which is the first University in the world of have a curriculum that is completely focused on the crypto technology. With his running, King hopes to bring attention to the technology, but also to a huge problem nowadays in America.

According to the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, 3.5 million Americans experience being homeless every year. King hopes his physical effort can make people aware of this problem, but he is also making his part. Throughout his run, he is gathering funds for the Satoshi Forest Sanctuary, a charity that takes him homeless people and helps them getting their life back on track.

If you want to make a stand at any subject and make it count, then let yourself be inspired by Jason King’s example – a guy who is willing to put his body in the line to stand for the causes he believes in.
